Civic Studio is a hair studio that asks for generosity from those with extra to support others with less to receive hair services at a price they can afford. Those who wish to extend generosity to others directly support Civic’s ability to offer several appointments each month with pay-as-you-can pricing. It’s self-care, haircare, and community care in one.

Civic Cuts & Color
are for those who have the ability to pay for Civic Cuts & Color and contribute to others, simply by having your hair done. Self-Care, Hair Care, and Community Care in one.
Self-Care Cuts & Color
are for those who feel their hair services are something they stretch and budget for. This rate offers the very important act of taking care of yourself and supporting Civic generally.
Community Supported Cuts & Color
are subsidized through Civic Hair Services. By offering what you are able to within your means, you contribute to keeping Civic’s mission strong.

Hair Service Pricing

Haircuts are done on dry hair. Megan specializes in dry cutting, a technique that allows your cut to be beautifully tailored to your personal hair texture and growth patterns. She loves helping you learn air drying techniques to bring out the best in your hair with minimal to no use of heat. Blow dry services are available as an add-on service for an additional charge. Relaxing shampoos and deep conditioning treatments are offered…and encouraged.

Wash, Blow-Dry & Style service will begin with Olaplex Clarifying shampoo & a hot towel to cleanse away pollution, hard water, and product residue that are leaving your locks looking and feeling dull; followed by a relaxing wash and rinse using clean beauty products from Intelligent I-N; and beautifully styled.

Conditioning Treatments are available to add onto a haircut or color service. You will receive a relaxing shampoo & scalp massage and the treatment best suited for your hair needs. Olaplex is recommended for chemically treated hair damage and dryness. I-N Beauty Bi-Phase Scalp & Ends Treatment is wonderful for dry, itchy, flakey scalps, accompanied by dry and dull ends.

Blow Dry & Styling services can be added to your cut or color services at a reduced rate from a full blow dry service. Hair Cuts and color services that do not include an added blow-dry will receive only a rough dry to reduce moisture or be left to air dry naturally in all its glory.
Blow Dry Add-On— $50
Donations outside of Civic Hair Services are graciously accepted in amounts of your choosing. Donations made directly to Civic are taxable. For tax deductible contributions stay tuned! Civic’s donation page will be updated when tax-deductible donations are acceptable. THANK YOU!

Special Event Styling prices range from $200 + for in studio styling, to $400 per hour for on-site services. Trials are highly recommended. A travel fee may be applied for services outside of Brooklyn. For more information, please contact Megan.

At this time masks are optional for guests. This may change reflecting community spread. I’m happy to wear a mask for anyone who would prefer.
Civic uses Molecule Air Purifiers and sanitizes in accordance with CDC guidelines between every client to provide the safest environment possible.

Civic Studio is entirely private! Enjoy your service in a quiet caring environment with only you and your stylist.
For those who desire ultimate airflow, the furniture can be positioned in the doorway for an outdoor feeling that keeps you free from the elements and passersby. Clients have enjoyed this option very much as an added safety precaution.

A sliding scale is offered to those for whom cost would otherwise be prohibitive to have services at Civic.

Civic has a 24hr cancellation policy. Appointments that are missed, rescheduled or cancelled less that 24 hours prior to your scheduled time will be charged in full.
Arrivals more that 15 minutes late may be denied service. If you’re running late, please contact Megan to better gauge her ability to accommodate. She’ll do the best she can to make things work. There will be times when the appointment is denied or an alternative service is suggested. In this event, your original service will be charged in full.

Civic uses Intelligent I-N products in the studio and available for purchase for at home use. KM Color.Me ammonia free hair colour is used for all hair colour services.
